Northern Territory
The N.T. covers a huge area of land, but has a relatively small population. The Aboriginal people account for a third of the inhabitants. The capital of Darwin sits on the shores of the north coast and has a multicultural feel with people originating from over 70 different, ethnic backgrounds. It has a varied climate from the tropical north to the sweeping grassy savannahs in the east, to the dramatic reds of the desert plains to the south and west.
