Western Australia

Western Australia is 2.5 million square kilometres in size. It has a population of approximately 2.3 million who mainly live in the south west of the state.

It is Australia's largest state and occupies the western third of the country. Because of its length, it experiences three types of climate - Mediteranean in the south, semi arid in the central parts and monsoonal in the north. The 12,889 km of coastline offer pristine beaches and nine Marine Parks. Inland, the varying lanscape hosts over 12,000 species of wildflowers that begin their spectacular display as early as July in the north, and as late as November in the south.
